Privacy policy

Last updated October 4, 2026

Ink·Release is a consent-form app used by tattoo studios on their own device, operated by Joshua Hibbard. Each studio holds its own account, and the forms its clients fill in belong to that studio.

What is collected

  • Studio account: studio name, sign-in email, artist names and hashed 4-digit passcodes.
  • Client forms: name, date of birth, phone, optional email, answers to health and readiness questions, acknowledgments, signature and signing time.
  • ID photos: a photo of the client's ID, taken with the device camera to confirm identity and age.
  • Studio notes and the studio's logo.

Why it is collected

Only so the studio can keep a signed consent record for each tattoo, as tattoo studios are commonly required to do. It is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling or tracking, and it is never sold.

Who can see it

Only the signed-in studio that collected it. Studios cannot see each other's data. Client answers stay on the device until the form is submitted and are then stored in the studio's account. A studio may export a form as a PDF and share it, for example with a health inspector; that sharing is the studio's choice.

Storage and security

Data is stored with our hosting provider in encrypted form and protected by access rules that limit each studio to its own records. Signed forms cannot be altered or deleted through the app, because they are a permanent record.

Keeping and deleting data

Records are kept until the studio deletes its account. A studio can delete its whole account from Settings → Account → Delete studio account, which permanently erases the studio, all forms, signed waivers, ID photos, notes, artists, settings and logo. Clients who want a copy or removal of their information should contact the studio that collected it.

Children

The app is for adults only. Studios must not use it to collect forms from anyone under 18.
